ITALY & VATICAN
|Oct 21-25

After the first week stayed in Paris, my second stop in this Europe trip is Italy ( i choose the capital, Rome) ...Rome is an amazing city if you like art - EVERY corner were sculpture, even the post office or inside a small park you see alot very detail and nice sculpture...abit pompous really, but from what i see, the city is more poor if compare to Paris.

And also visited this smllest country in the world, Vatican - it actually small like just a town next to Rome. i walked a circle around this "country" just outside the "country wall" to see how long does its take - just an hour.

after the flight arrived in airport in Rome, I was searching the hostel (from the tourist information counter, get the map and search the place...) and i found this one located in the city centre in Rome.

Ten mins walk to the Colosseo and between two metro station. 20 euro per night - and when i get there was already 8pm at night so i just stay in this one - fair enough. after i settle down things and met a guy in the hostel, we go out together that night for just walk around the Colosseo.

At the morning I went to the reception in the hostel to complian about the Italian guys were too hot in my room -- and i want to change to stay in another room have some girls inside ( the room i stayed the night before have 3 Italian guys and only ME is a girl, but I didn't except they dare to... ummm.... anyway I had a bf so no way - but they were just too...)

so the guy put me in another room - he said this room have 2 girls and 1 guy - i think they were the same as me (usually young tourist bag packer ) but - ARUMmm, there was a mommy, a daughter and a son. but they were nice.

At the begining the mom didn't talk to me ( she dont speak english ), but after i spoke to her daughter ( 16 years old cute girl ) and the son ( may be 14,5 y.o.) than i know they were Albanian and came to Rome because two kids have to study there. they ( the kids ) speak Italian + Albanian + English and they were still learning some other lanugage ( like Latin and Spanish ). but the mom only speak Albanian and Italian ( so she is ok at Rome but not talk to me )

then i went out myself to Campidoglio and Roman Forum so I passed Colosseo again, and there's really TOO MUCH too see in Rome

I also went to Altare della Patria (or you say Facade of Vittorio Emanuele II Monument), Pantheon ( not the one in Greece! ) and Fontana di Trevi ( very beautiful really ) and some more stuff I really couldn't remember anymore - so many thing to see in Rome.

i really prefer to come to Rome more than go to Milian for the "fashion" which you can see them in Asia ( in the shop!!) and the local Itaian also said Milian is boring too.

I remember my lunch that day was finished in a resturant closed to Altare della Patria. around 10 euro with a salad and drink - if you think its expensive, I will tell you to relax - the salad is so huge and with bread etc - for me i can't finished and you dont need dinner after that.

walked alot in the city that day - i feel like i know Rome very well now!!.

took the metro to go to Vactian.

SO crowded! the metro is very small and the people are so huge! ( keep moaning ) finally i arrived this lovely place, Vatican.

Its was raining very bad at the begining, the food were REALLY expensive and have to queue up forever to entre the Vactican Museum. i finally see this drawing I really want to see in real - the Michael Angelo's drawing at the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel : - I was about to cry! read many Art History book and really want to see this one - when you know the story behind will be more great. all the others painting also make me really happy too ( why ? ) the famous one (also Last Judgement, the school of Athens .. etc ) and non-famous one.

not only painting but alot of sculpture too ( again )---the St. Peter's Church looks really magnificent. after that i walked back to Rome and saw alot of interesting things on the street.

breakfast at a resturant next to the Colosseo ( i choose the outdoor-seat as the weather is perfect ), then started to walk again - the photos on the right you can see a face-sculpture, this is the Wall Sculpture at Bocca Della Veriata. this is older than your great-grandma i'm sure.
keep walking to visit more things afterwards ...

2003-Oct-25

not much more things to do - coz i wake up everyday there at 6:00 am and go out at 7:00am, back to hostel at 9:00pm every night and sleep. so i have plenty of time to do shopping before i leave. brought a pink mini skirt and some small sculptrue for my sisters. and i ate an icecream while i did shopping...( 2 balls .. yes.. ) the place that i did shopping there is very good, many shop and the things are kinda of "treandy" .. but i forget the street name. i guess is "Via Condotti"

then keep walking in the city again.

early morning ... I was already preparing all my belonings to leave - the flight actually at 4pm but after i check out at 9 or 10 am i bring my suitcase hang around the city for a while and jump on the train again. always you dont really know where to go when people dont speak english and the notice away write in Itaian ( seems like that in All europe ) but of course CLEVER KYLIE can always find the right way. :-P when i back to Paris was late already but i join the party with Aurelie and Martin ...

on the plane i saw the snow mountain ( see the photo ) very high, for sure this is Switzerland! i want to go there next time.

also when the flight up to the sky in South ( or middle )of France, i saw alot of farm land which is big and nice, some little house ( from the plan but i guess its actually big).
