Okay -- im going to write everything about this trip VERY details, as details as i could remember so far. so you can skip the text sometime if you feel bored.... ( but believe me, its interesting to read :-D)- the date I took the flight to Paris was 2003 Oct 13 afternoon 3pm. after stayed in Gold Coast (Tusen Mun, the HK one ) with my ex bf after the weekend, we went to airport together ( he wasn't pick me there but he lives in Airport hotel ...
Anyway, the Airway was Gulf Air, for sure i wasn't take the direct flight ... actually is : HKG >> BBK (2 hours), stoped in BBK 1 hour, BBK >>BAH (bahrain) 7 hours, stoped in BAH 4 hours, BAH >> CDG ( paris's airport )9 hours .... totally almost one day. the flight from BBK >> BAH, i met a thai girl on the plane and chat alot. her husband is in Bahrain (bahrainese) and they have a daughter... i saw the big dipper ( or you say septentrion ? ) on the sky, really big and first time see it so clearly, very cold on the flight there ...look outside, not arrived yet, again, not arrived yet ... bla bla bla ..
by the way, i haven't put all the photos here .. coz i took too much. 8 rolls of 36 films...

I finally arrived in Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport at 7:00am.
Aurelie and Martin was waiting for me.. They were so nice ... come to pick me up with Aurelie's mom's car and drive me home. after i told Aurelie about how long the flight was ( she already had it ), she said " and this is not finished .. we have to drive almost 2 hours to home." |

1) after arrived home and a shower etc .. me and Aurelie go out with take care of this little French girl, Marre. she has so much energy! ( jumping crying shouting laughing screaming...)
2) Tourist thing - we (me + Aurelie + marre )went to Eiffel tower , and the area .. flesh air :-)
I haven't went to the top of the tower that day but did it at the end of my trip.Marre was crying alot ( being naughty - ) and she throw stuff .... on my nose :-/
than we met Marre's mom and her mom's friend (a Japanese girl who work in France) for drink at afternoon in the french café. nice relaxing day :-) |

Arc de Triomphe - nice area.
we also had a look on the price of the tourist bus, but its cost 200+ HKD so we give up, dont need it anyway .... =)
also walked around Champs Elysees ( saw the Japanese and Chinese tourist all stuck in the LV/Brand shop ... crazy..)
as Aurelie said, no young French people will buy those LV things and they would laugh at people just come to France and do it ..)and others things around the Area. |

we were also went to river seine .me and Aurelie look like... teenager :-D
when we go there, Martin said " remember where's Princess Diana die? the tunnel there ... "
the weather was super fine when i was there, no jokes. |

after a whole day hanging around in the City, we also went to CM's apartment. she was about to move to a new one - but the old one is nice enough.
then we go for dinner together and CM paid for us for the food in this Lebanon resturant! Merci :-)
And the food is super tasty too. the guy in the shop is nice -- its was a GREAT dinner.
After that we went to Moulin Rouge etc ...

this is the first day i started to go out myself. they need to work / go to school...so I took the metro ( in HK you called them MTR, in Thailand you called them BTS you know what i mean )and go around.The Montmarte actually just nexted to the Basillca of Sacre Coeur, but the ART there wasn't as great as i thought. i mean i could do the same - more like "share" art than "showing" the art.
I took lot of photos inside Notre Dame and Basilica of SC too, but dont show too much here.

we go out together in some very "local" place in paris .. the market etc. no tourist will go there ..the resident are mostly (Black) French and Aurelie told me dont go there alone. i saw the very long black leather boots that i want there, but I haven't buy it.

went to Musee d'Orsay myself. so confused when i took the RER (train in Paris) and the guy dont speak any English at the platform. I asked like 5,6 people finally one guy can speak English to me ...
sooo many painting of Van Gogh ! happy happy! i spent 6 hours there.( many others brilliant art as well) |

went to Musee du Louvre with Martin and Aurelie. really GREAT - so many, too much art, we only choose the traditional painting section ( actually i chose it :-P) and we spent a whole day only finished half. next time if i come back to Paris i will FOR SURE go to Du Louvre again.
then we eat mcdonal after that --- other days of the trip when im alone i usually eat cheap things on the street (yes, even mcdonal is expensive)..
i was pretty enjoyed to buy stuff in the small barkey and eat on the street, walking around the city myself. |

I went to search the travel agency in Paris and buy a ticket for the next day ( yes, just brought it the day before!) to Italy. finally get the France air to go to Rome. |

2003-Oct-21
Started from Aurelie's place, I bring the ticket which just brought the day before + my suitcase to go to the CDG airport myself. Metro >> RER >> CDG airport --- 2 hours flight, arrived the Italy Rome airport and take the train to the city around 6pm - asked people, searching around -oh well got the hostel's address, search again, finally stayed in this Hostel in the city centre of Rome ( really centre, 10 mins walk to the Colosseo ) with 20 euro per night, 5 bed in the room - the whole story, tell you in next chapter. |
2003-Oct-25
After the trip in Italy ( now i think its great coz i made it myself without anybody help .. wouupp.) and do the same trip ( train, Rome airport, flight, RER, Metro) to back to Paris Aurelie and Martin's (also the cat asked for food all the time )place .
When i got back home, Aurelie wrote a notice and put it on the door " we go to buy something and we will come back very soon just wait kylie!" so i wait as I have no key. but there was a traffice jam so i wait more than 1 hour ... when they came back Aurelie said : hey Kylie, we are going to a party tonight .. do you want to join? if you are too tried after the flight you can just sleep ....
do you think i will just go to bed to be a good baby? of course i go to the party! |

The Party is really cool, we drive there ( search for a while though) and arrived the place like half office half factory, all were french except me ( one France-born-Korean girl) guys make good music and the place is big enough ... very funny. i spoke to a few people who can speak english ... very good party. then i slept like a baby when i back home.

dont remember which day ( 26 or 27 ) Aurelie went to Grande Arche De La Defense with me. her mom work under there, a big shopping mall.
we did some shopping and she show me the way to go to take that bus to the small airport ( i brought a ticket to go to Scoltand on internet, which is super cheap - Ryan air (an Irish small airway -the ticket i brought was only 0.01euro+20 euro airport tax. seriously!!), and the place is a bit complicated to go ..
so i know that place...and we did hang out abit, like go to Aurelie mom's apartment (fews stations outside Paris centre) and also her older sister's apartment around too.
we went to the Irish bar in Paris, but not for drink - just to ask the Irish girl in the bar where's the bus stop to go to this airport. feel like in a Japanese RPG-TV game... so funny =) |

again off to airport myself alone - take the bus (10 euro i think.) from Ryan Air, almost 3 hours on the bus (that's why they are cheap, the airport is REALLY far away and a very small one, never see any "air port" small like that - i felt like in the game centre in HK) slept on the plane and arrived at night. Neil and his Dad came to pick me up in the airport :-D and they are SO nice people. --------- < go to the Scotland chapter to follow the story...> |

just back from Scotland and Spain.
i stil have some money left ( coz i didn't spent on food so much ) so i went to the Eiffel tower- the tower has 3 levels, of course i paid for the top one ( if you pay for the top one of course you can also go to 1st and 2nd levels) and there was SO many people. some resturant at the top floor too, but of course i dont bother to eat there.
on the top level you can see the whole Paris city and you see that the city were build around the square and the tower like a flower shape-- pretty funny though.
go around the city again that day, go off to different station and went to the book shop ( many art book :-D)

dont remember what i have done - i just see this photo is on date Nov 12 in my album - Martin's friend Cederic at their place. ( i haven't wrote any diary in the trip like most people do - now i just look at the date on the photos in my album to figure out the date etc.)

have time and STILL have money. of course, have to go there - Versailles. take the metro and RER, stoped at a station named " Versailles Rise Gauche"--but becareful coz its have two direction if you want to go to Versailles from the city centre of Paris.
Very big and nice Castle. BUT, i haven't paid to go inside .. dont feel like need it. just walking around the garden had spent me a whole day.
so many Sheep Sheep behind me in the farm-land :-D
by the way .. the hat i brought in Scotland ( wore it in the photo ) ... look like the mogolian one. that day people think i'm mogolian ( and in French if you say somebody is mogolian is a big joke like mean you are sick or silly ..)

Me + Aurelie + her cousin-Fammy went out at afternoon for drink and walk around...after that, we brought some stuff to CM's new apartment - Aurelie only have the new address and we search for it. so nice! much bigger, very big really. we stay there that night
Aurelie made some wine ( green lemon + some wine + sugar etc, she said this is very french one .... nevermind, i will got drunk anyway )
than we stayed there that night. only 3 girls and i feel abit better - i feel so sad ( see what happened in scotland) at the moment. |

My last night in Europe in this trip. wake up in CM's place with CM and Aurelie, had a very nice breakfast together and said hello to CM sister's kid ( super cute ) and out with CM + her brother + not sure if her uncle or not + Aurelie and meet up Martin - buy Christmas gift ( they were preparing already in Nov. )
Then CM back home as she was really tired - me + Aurelie + Martin went to a place where they said " simliar to the Lan Kwai Fong in Hong Kong " and had a drink before i leave. back home early and prepare my suitcase for the morning Flight to back to Asia tomorrow . |
2003-Nov-16
wake up at early morning - say bye to Aurelie and her cat ( martin still sleeping ), bring my suitcase and all the things i brought in Europe off to CDG airport again.
the whole trip only spent me 20000 HKD ( dont forget i do shopping too ) and i found that if you know cheap air line ( like Ryan air, easy jet ) Flight is more cheaper then train ( and faster ). Experienced alot, and I now miss my friends there so much. |
