Why YuYu Hakusho

Original comic have #19 comic books for the whole YYH story.

Without #1-12, the last half of #13-19 comic would be just an insane, crazy, weird, psycho, odd and incomprehensible story. But then if there's no #13-19, it would just be typical childish “bad school kid save the world fight for justice' story.

Even though, first part is exciting enough to make it popular, even the first half goes in a ‘typcial' way, it does show the excellent creativity of Togashi. The tears of Ice Demon drop would turn to gems etc (I think its beautiful), and the way how he bring the messages out, Dark Tournament is not only a tournament but a huge casino of life. the arrangement of the story and the small stories in between the whole story line was all very amazing.

But then, many comic are as good at that.

Togashi was getting more famous during the middle when he was writing & drawing YYH. Once he got famous it was different … he started to do the comic as the way he want but not exactly following what the company/market wanted. and the fact its show you HE IS A GENIUS.

The appearances of Sensui was a thoroughgoing overthrow.

Without this chapter and Sensui, YYH won't be as great as this is now. This Sensui guy, just another enemy who seem evil and coquettish, also an extremely powerful one, but Sensui is a complete glamorously which is different with Younger Toguro. Look at Sensui who is an excellent superior strong person but also head over heels insane, this character make reader shocked about the whole story, or even made reader think of their life and the view of the world.

The reason Sensui gone mad, his interesting but tragedy life and schizophrenic mind torn to 7 personalities, being such an angel like young boy believe he was doing the right thing to protect human and saw that evil banquet of blood and torture… the incorrigible thought of good and bad, even how we see the enemies after you read this chapter, you just can't guess what happening and what is going on. Togashi just drew a big red cross inside our brain of what we think yes is actually a no.

Also the creativity of the abilities in this chapter made it amazing. After dark tournament Yusuke and his friends are strong as normal human won't be able to move them an inch, but the new enemies are human who don't know any martial art. But their abilities could defeat them, even at the end the biggest enemy Sensui still have to do a fight with and powerful as you really amazed, but I'm so glad this comic wasn't keep fighting for higher level all the time because except Sensui and Itsuki other enemies wasn't do the same kind of fighting.

Story go to Demon's world kings, the background was set up perfectly. 3 kings hold the balance for more then 500 years because they all have great power but cannot attack each other, coz 2 fights, the last one will kill the remaining one and get the whole demon's world. Then go through each of their story as well as the past of the main characters; Raizen still in love with a human lady who dead 500 years ago and keeping his promise not to eat human, hunger last for 500 years. A extremely powerful demon king dies because of hunger. Mukuro, one of the 3 most powerful demon king and no one would have guess Mukuro is a she. Horrible childhood, being a sex slave, got rape by her father, put acid to melt half of her body to make her dad throw her away and now as powerful as a monster, which is a match with Hiei, the Forbidden Child who born as cruel and cold blood have his mother tears before she die and searching for the disappeared twin sister, finally back home but doesn't feel home and lost the target of life. The thousand year's demon fox who was an evil and cruel bandit live his next life as a good boy for the human mother.

Story is not always 4 main characters fight for the same enemy together, good friends and partner who go through all the death and a live time together, separate to join different enemy's side.

Yusuke is actually half Demon, talk to Hokusan about eating Human like as if this is normal; Hiei wasn't that cold blood after all; Youko Kurama who live for more than 1000 years and be kind for his human mother, he feel comfortable but he could still be cruel. They “saved the world”, but they are not justice at all, it's just happened when their enemies are going to destroy. As Genkai said people said she fights for justice, but she was just killing people she hates who happens to be ‘bad'. The whole #1-8.9 books set up the thoughts of “they are justice” statements was totally destroyed at the 2,3 books after. No one is all good and all bad in YYH, nothing is absolute.

Finally the story end up suddenly which now I look at it was the best way to ended it. Eh, tournament again, yusuke is going to win isn't it? NO. Yusuke lost, Kurama lost, Hiei lost. But things still solved and life go on, main characters don't have to win from beginning to the end, even they lost they have life to deal with.

Yusuke, who ‘saved the world", selling Ramen on the street and Keiko go there for a free meal some; Kurama, clever and smart working in his step father's company, don't even want to go to university even he was the best in class. Hiei found his sister and never want to let her know he is the one, stay in Demon's world, first time start to be in peace and enjoy his young life. Kuwabara, the ugliest one among four, but lack of him the story would not be as good. He and Yusuke there being funny making joke to make reader laugh was important coz sometime the story goes pretty dark (esp. in Sensui's chapter) also Kuwabara has the better spirit sense to sense things around, and the most important, his Dimension sword … In fact Kuwabara is the kindest one, when the other 3 fights til the end of the world, he dropped out the battle, stayed in living world study hard. Yukina stay in living world live with Kuwaraba's family house. Genkai die in bed of old age, leave the kids her legacy.

The Demon's world tournament was completed, just Togashi don't bother to draw the repeating details - in fact every one said he is lazy, well he IS that's no doubt, thing is he know when to stop and at the last #19 comic, what ever need to consigned, he did. It's made you miss the comic too much but still better then make it longer and longer and keep fighting for the same type of enemy again and again, like most of the others boyish fighting comic. Sunset plus ocean everyone was there enjoying and remember the good and bad times they had together, the last sense of 4 main characters photo dropped on the floor in the boy's room … happy and sad, miss it but it have to be done … perfect ending.

YYH is the best, forever.
