Gate of Demon's World - 魔界の扉編
 

I LOVE this story the most! REALLY amazing one.

In this battle, there's only one demon which is just an assistant (or partner/lover, Itsuki who is a beautiful demon guy) in the enemy side but not the biggest enemy. Oh also older Toguro, but he only has his evil ugly head in this story anyway. Its more right to say there's only one demon than. The rest are human.

After the Dark Tournament, one day some guys from next town come to Yusuke and pick up fight. It was a trap as Yusuke think they are just human and he is way much stronger then others ordinary humans. Yusuke got kidnapped and Kuwabara, Kurama and Hiei have to go save him. Hiei didn't care, but Koenma told Hiei that can help to reduce his criminal record so Hiei also join in.

 
 


Then they found out this kidnap was an urgent lesson that Genkai have to teach them and this is began of the main story. Those humans were just ordinary people, but they kidnapped Yusuke with their extraordinary power that they just got it recently. The common of them all were: they all come from the same city. Later on Koenma found out there was a horrible plan behind it: some one is going to open the gate of demon's world, and the gate was under this city. The demon energy from the gate made some human got extraordinary power and they don't even know why, then low classes demons are full of the city that ordinary people couldn't see so they don't even know what happens.

Later on they found out the one who plan to open the gate was a human which is ex-spirit detective name Sensui Shinobu. He is a natural martial art talent and he could see demon that ordinary people cannot see since he was a kid and he can even destroy those demons at that age. He has a complete pure heart, but Sensui was too clear-cut and adamant about his moral codes. Humans were victims, so he had to protect them. Demons were evil; he had to kill them. This is one of the reason why Sensui's 180° changed later on.

Sensui has been doing a great job of being the spirit world detective, until one night he got an urgent case, which is the last case from Koenma to him. When he and Itsuki (they were partner already and work together) defeated almost all the enemy in the building, It was successful and they are almost going to finish the case. but on the way, He saw something that he should have never seen. Sensui first reach to a floor and once he opened the door, He saw a rich man's party which is rather bloody and frightened. There, human were torturing the helpless demons, (some female demons there as well, imagine) just for fun and their twisted desire. It was a horrible scene, and there human are thousand times worse than demon. Black and white blur, flip upside down, his mind wasn't big enough to hold the change. He then scream out and went torn, killed the entire human there, when Itsuki arrived, it was all too late.

At that time was 10 years ago. He quit and vanished WITH Chapter Black(黒ノ章）. (“Chapter Black” is the tape from Spirit world which recorded the most darkness side of humanity, more then 30,000 hours of wars, tortures, the act of the most brutality from Human, even in spirit world only a very small part of people can watch it. Seeing such atrocities can turn a human against other humans in as little as five minutes of vieweing.) Sensui stole that from Koenma and he think humanity is the worse kind, He decided to punish humanity for their sins by opening the a stable tunnel to Demon World. Sensui and his other 6 partners, which 5 of them are human with extraordinary power and his closest partner, demon Itsuki are the main enemy in this storyline.

At the end Yusuke couldn't stop Itsuki and Sensui, the Gate still opened, and at the end of this story started the next story : The Demon's world tournament a.k.a. the three kings.

The ending was very sad, of course you expected and wanted the 4 main characters to win, but then you would really feel sorry for Sensui's side as well. Sensui dead with a smile on his face and 5 of them (Yusuke, Kuwabara, Kurama, Hiei and Koenma) leave demon's world with a sad victory....

 
 
 

Kido Asato (城戶　亞沙斗)
Ability :" Shadow"

Once he stepped on your shadow in his territory, you won't be able to move. So he can punch you or kill you or do whatever he wants.

He is one of the 3 who kidnapped Yusuke and took them to 4-dimension mansion.

Yanagisawa Mitsunari (柳澤　光城)
Ability : "Copy"

He has the ability to imitate anyone he meets, physically and spiritually, so that no other person or instrument can tell the difference.

He is one of the 3 who kidnapped Yusuke and took them to 4-dimension mansion.

 

Kaitou Yuu (海藤　優)
Ability :" Taboo Words"

He sets up a territory in which he picks a word to be taboo, and if anyone should say that word, he captures their soul.

He is one of the 3 who kidnapped Yusuke and took them to 4-dimension mansion.


The Seven (enemies) 七人の敵
 

Kamiya Minoru (神谷　實)
Code-named :" Doctor"

He is really a doctor and the battle with him was inside the hospital. He can create virus and bugs to carry his virus. Also he can heal his own body by what he called, “surgical operation” and he made himself stronger then usual human by his own drugs.

He said as a doctor he has be seeing so much in life and he is not sure how should he die, getting old or sick is not a way that he wants how its ended. So the idea of open the tunnel/gate to human world and get kill by demon and being one of them is cool for him (woah…)

 
 

Mitarai Kiyoshi (御手洗　清志)
Code-named :" Seaman"

First of all, can you believe that his family name "Mitarai" in Japanese actually means "washroom"....

His territory is inside the liquid monster that he creates by his blood. When he drops his blood in to liquid (usually water), the liquid will turn to liquid monsters and they are unbreakable, the more blood he drops the stronger and bigger the monster is, so his powers work best in the rain.

His battle was done by Kuwabara. Sensui let Mitarai watched Chapter Black and he became gloomy, he was trying to kill Kuwabara and his friend and it was almost success- at the end he thought he was going to be kill after Kuwabara defeated him, but Kuwabara believed Mitarai is a scared little boy, confused and hurt, calling out for help so bring him to Yusuke's apartment. later on he was helping out Yusuke's side, however this is also in Sensui's expectation.

 

 

Hagiri Kaname (刃霧　要)
Code-named :" Sniper"

He looks really cool and many people like this character.

He has the ability to enter his own energy into object, even pencil eraser and made it as hard as metal, and shoot it from 500 feet away to hit the target.

He can also create targets on a person's body and then command objects to hit those targets, as known as "Death Print Bulls-eye" (死紋十字斑). He sends rocks, knives, and even an oil tanker after Yusuke.

He looks very much like a character in "Akira", smiliar outfit and hair style. but of course Hagiri is thousands time more handsome :-P

 
 

Amanuma Tsukihito (天沼　月人)
Code-named :"Game Master "

The youngest one between 7, his territory gives him the ability to make any video game come to life. And he even drive really fast in one chapter (and you can see as a 11 years old kid he learn that from TV games)

 
 

Makihara Sadao (卷原　定男)
Code-named :" Gourmet"

He has the ability of devouring people and then taking on their powers.

His mistake is devouring Older Toguro, who takes over his body and uses it. The fight with him was done by Kurama, it was completely disgusting as well. Kurama cut his half head off very quick then Older Toguro came out from the remaining half and still running and fighting … really horrible ugly one - YUCK

 
 

Itsuki (樹)
Code-named : "Gate Keeper "

Itsuki (literality: Tree) is a demon who can control low class demon to be his pet, also he own “hands of shadow” which can go freely to different between dimension, a rare race in demon world.

He is the only demon enemy in this “Gate of demon's world” story. Among the seven, Itsuki is the closest to their leader (no doubt). His job in this chapter is to create the tunnel, and his power keeps increasing. The gate finally opened with an unexpected fast speed.

10 years ago Sensui was still the spirit detective and killing all the demons with no doubt, he met Itsuki – at that time Sensui see Itsuki was just another demon to kill, and no demon can be alive after they met Sensui, nevertheless Itsuki was the first one. That night Sensui caught Itsuki, and Itsuki was already badly injured lying on the ground waiting to be killed. Before the final hit to take Itsuki's life, Sensui asked: “do you have anything to say before you die?” Then Itsuki said “can I live one more day?” of course, Sensui was curious and asked him why. Then Itsuki said the next day have a TV show that he wanted to watch. After that Sensui was shocked that demon has humanity as well, and start to chat with Itsuki. Don't you just love the way they met!

Then they start to working together (it would be great if Mr. Togashi write the story about in between), Itsuki gave Sensui fully support in no matter what kind of situation and even Sensui turn good or bad (and Sensui was accepting it).

Itsuki is openly affectionate to Sensui, a very devoted lover and after Sensui's death, he takes Sensui's body to Limbo (Itsuki's pet which is a huge 2D demon having his body inside is another dimension), where they can stay in silence for eternity and disappered from this world.

However Anime seems turn down their relationship more like Itsuki's one side crush. And on Anime sometime Itsuki called Sensui "Mr. Sensui" ... this is really not the same. 10 years ago Itsuki was calling his family name "Sensui" directly, but then at the current story he called him with his given name "Shinobu" which means they are really close together ... aiiii what's wrong with their relationship? They are gay coz this is how the story works and this is what's Mr. Togashi had written/drew!

 
 

Sensui Shinobu (仙水　忍)
Code-named : "Dark Angel "

I had trouble to capture his anime illustration, because I have no idea why on earth in the animate he looks really awful. He is pretty good looking in the comic but on animate his face got so sharp and long and twisted. I'm so mad about it.

He was a talented and pure hearted previous spirit detective who ‘discovered' the cruel, evil, ugly side of humanity and think human are worse then demon, he decided to open the gate to the demon's world and let all human die under powerful demon's attack.

He has 7 personalities in his body, in the comic series we have seen 3 of them -Minoru who love to talk and aruge, Kazuya which is the violent mad rude man and Shinobu the main personlity and the true of himself, however Itsuki mention one of them is a girl named Naru and she will only show up in front of Itsuki and she is a crying baby, and Itsuki like Shinobu the best, 2nd is Naru – a very methodical schizophrenia I guess....

As a human he IS the strongest among all in YYH (well Yusuke was a demon after this chapter, Kurama and Hiei are also demons....) They first thought Sensui is just an arrogant and crazy enemy, but then when the main personality Shinobu show up, Hiei & Kurama was sweating, as they were both demons and they could sense that Sensui is a human who obsess his power classified as a S-Class demon (top class and its not easy to find even in Demon's world) and he was able to kill them all easily.

Koenma used his Mafukkan ( 魔封環 , in Koenma's case he use his pacifier) which is the Spirit World's most powerful defensive spell, able to seal S-class demon when its full power, however Sensui is not a demon and the most important thing is, he got the strongest energy of human, “sacred energy”( 聖光気 ) so the Mafukkan was wasted after few hushard years Koenma store his energy in it.

At the end Sensui killed Yusuke, Kuwabara used his dimension sword cut off Limbo(Itsuki's pet which live in another dimension) and also cut off the defense zone from spirit world (which is the last defense from A & S classed demon once the Gate is opened). Kuwabara, Hiei and Kurama go to demon world with Sensui and they still can't move an inch of Sensui.

The turning point of the battle was, Yusuke's demon ancestor wake him up at time and turn Yusuke to a demon ( well, half demon than ) and finish Sensui up in a very short time ( and this is the beginning of the last chapter). At the end Itsuki said Sensui only have a month to live anyways as he got a very bad virus in his body. Sensui feel happy to die under Demon's hand and in Demon's world and didn't want to go to spirit world after death. his last words was "wish I can born as a demon in next life"
